Toddler Time

Children must be 2 – 2 & 1/2 years old by September 1

Potty training not necessary

Toddler Time Classes will focus on social/emotional, fine/gross motor, language and intellectual skills.

Our toddlers will conquer many milestones during this year; they are very aware of themselves and will be discovering their independence. As they become more vocal their favorite words will be “No”, “Mine” and “I do it”. Toddlers are excited one moment and angry the next, as their attention span is very short. Even though toddlers are aware of other children at this age, they still prefer solitary play. Early childhood studies show that children should be involved in choice-making whenever possible and should explore and learn through trial and error and their senses. BCRC offers plenty of opportunities for the 2-year-old to achieve these goals.

Even at this young age your child is developing early writing skills when he scribbles. This learning opportunity is developing muscle control needed to hold and control writing tools. Toddlers will become more familiar with print as they listen to stories, look at picture books and are involved in written words and conversation as they describe their artwork. As children involve themselves in play, our qualified teachers will take advantage of those teachable moments to work on such skills as sorting, counting and identifying shapes whenever the opportunity arises. Our teachers supply many challenging opportunities for the toddlers in a loving and nurturing environment.
